Why isn't my current location auto-populating?
Make sure OnTheWay has location permission. Go to iPhone Settings → OnTheWay → Location → set to "While Using the App." Then tap the "Use Current" button in the app.
The app shows Google Maps in a browser instead of the app.
Make sure Google Maps is installed on your device. OnTheWay checks for the Google Maps app before opening — if it's not installed it will fall back to a browser link.
How do I change my preferred navigation app?
Go to Preferences (gear icon on the trip setup screen) → Vehicle & Trip Defaults → Navigation App. You can choose Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze.
How does tank range work?
Set your vehicle's approximate fuel range in Preferences → Vehicle & Trip Defaults → Tank Range. OnTheWay uses this to place gas stops before you'd run out. You can also set your preferred refuel point — e.g. refuel when 80% of the tank is used.
Can I use OnTheWay without an internet connection?
OnTheWay requires an internet connection to fetch route data and find nearby stops. Once a trip is planned, the stop list is stored on your device and available offline.
How do I opt out of anonymous data collection?
Go to Preferences → Privacy → turn off "Share anonymous trip data." You can also opt out during the first launch disclosure.
